It is under 10 years old, has approximately 80 public beds and is co-located with a 20 bed private hospital. It provides extensive services including general medicine, general, orthopaedics, ENT, ophthalmic, and gynaecological surgery and obstetrics in addition to an emergency department and a high dependency unit.   In December 2014 work will complete on a $27 million redevelopment of the hospital which will significantly increase the size of the emergency department and create specialised mental health and rehabilitation facilities.
