It has 290 beds, is an acute and extended care facility which provides surgical, medical, paediatric, obstetrics and gynaecology, intensive care and psychiatry services as well as extended care and regional services. The hospital has a high incidence of road accidents, skin cancer, farm injuries and work safety accidents occur due to its regional location. The University of Melbourne has established a Rural Clinical School in purpose built facilities across the road. The hospital also has strong links to the Royal Women?s Hospital. == The Position ==: You will have a dual role as the Divisional Clinical Director of Women and Children?s Health and the Clinical Director of the relevant specialty unit. The purpose of this newly created senior position is to effectively manage both the division and unit to ensure clinical and strategic leadership, risk minimization and the continual monitoring and quality improvement of patient care. You will be working in partnership with the Divisional Operations Director and Nurse Unit Manager. You will be required to manage the recruitment and performance planning of all medical staff within the division. As well as the managerial and leadership work you will also conduct clinical ward rounds and outpatient clinics. It is also a requirement that you participate in the on call roster. Your duties will also involve implementing and undertaking major teaching and educational initiatives. This includes actively engaging in the teaching of medical undergraduates, RMOs, nursing staff, allied health staff and other health care professionals. You will also be expected to initiate, encourage and participate in research. == The Location ==: You will be living in a friendly, relaxed town of 70,000 people just a two hour drive north of Melbourne.
