The Hospital You will be working in the largest referral hospital in north-east Victoria that caters for a population of 160,000. It has 290 beds, is an acute and extended care facility which provides surgical, medical, paediatric, obstetrics and gynaecology, intensive care and psychiatry services as well as extended care and regional services. This Hospital is the major health provider in the district.  There are 2,500 general paediatric admissions per year and up to 1,500 births per year. A level 2 Special Care Nursery admits up to 400 babies per year and has dedicated neonatal staff and provides nasal CPAP for respiratory distress.  The hospital has a high incidence of road accidents, skin cancer, farm injuries and work safety accidents occur due to its regional location. The University of Melbourne has established a Rural Clinical School in purpose built facilities across the road. The hospital also has strong links to the Royal Women?s Hospital. == The Location == You will be living in a friendly, relaxed town of 70,000 people just a two hour drive north of Melbourne.
