The Hospital Here, you will be working in the biggest hospital and health care complex in regional Western Australia. The campus is combined of a public and private sector. It provides all major medical specialties including general and respiratory medicine; general, orthopaedic, urological, otolaryngological and hand surgery; paediatrics; obstetrics/gynaecology; radiology; ophthalmology and psychiatry. In addition, there are on-site services for oncology; dialysis and palliative care. The hospital recently commenced a major redevelopment of their critical care facilities, which was designed to provide ICU services, an expansion in the capacity of the emergency department and a new short stay unit. It recently introduced a Level 1 ICU service, to include four ventilated beds, and hopes to achieve a level 2 ICU status in 2014/2015. The inpatient unit is part of the district mental health service and incorporates general adult, old age and CAMHS services. The unit has 27 beds, 6 of which are secure beds, and you will be joining a team of full time medical staff including two consultants, two medical officers and one medical RMO. == The Location == The unit is located  in the second largest city in Western Australia, less than a two hours? drive from Perth; it is a business centre and a hub of regional development, meaning that every desirable amenity is right on your very doorstep.  However, despite its cool, cosmopolitan exterior, you will finds that it has still managed to maintain a relaxed seaside vibe, boasting some of the most lush, beautiful landscapes in the region. Many of the attractions are nature-based, due to the picturesque sheltered bays, sandy beaches and shallow reefs. Or, why not drive a bit further south and explore the majestic forest, known to as the ?Valley of the Giants? and marvel at some of Australia?s oldest and most magnificent trees.
