Between the years 2010 ? 2013 this hospital will undergo a redevelopment transforming it in to a new state of the art medical facility comprising of 318 beds. The redevelopment will also include more operating theatres, a new emergency department and outpatients department. The hospital offers a wide range of services, and currently has a daily average of 146 Inpatients and 433 Outpatients. This position requires general physicians with a sub-speciality. Ideally we are looking for renal, respiratory and geriatric sub-specialties.  The role will be 50:50 between general medicine and your speciality. The region encompasses Australia?s largest continuous stretch of rainforest, spectacular National Parks, breathtaking mountains and gorges, historic townships, miles of golden beaches, more than 70 tropical islands and of course the enchanting world of the Great Barrier Reef.
