The patients are sick with an average APACHE score of 19, and an average age of 45 years. You will be one of 3 staff specialists with a 1:3 on call roster. The unit has 24-hour medical cover and a strong nursing team. The hospital has academic links and a clinical academic appointment is possible. Opportunities to work in a second specialty are available. The unit enjoys a good relationship with other teams in the hospital and participates in hospital and unit based education, clinical audit and research. == The Location ==:  Here you will be located in an area of great scenic beauty with rugged ranges and spectacular gorges in an essentially arid desert landscape.
