The clinic is closed on weekends. Flights and accommodation will all be taken care of and you will have access to a vehicle for the duration of the locum so when you're not oncall you can visit the nearby fishing village of Strahan by car or rail. You must have a current ELS, ALS, PALS, EMST or equivalent certificate for credentialing purposes. Telstra network works the best. Base yourself in this unique mining town to explore the rest of this tranquil and beautiful state. The Clinic The mixed-billing clinic offers occupational health, chronic disease and preventative management and general practice services to the local hospital, community health centre and aged care facility.  There are 10 inpatient beds, a 14 bed nursing home and an Accident and Emergency Dept. You will be working alongside 1-2 other doctors, clinic nurses and there are 24 hour triage nurses in the hospital. All severe trauma cases are evacuated to Burnie.  The fully computerise clinic features 2 well equipped treatment rooms, a procedure room, 3 consulting rooms and an occupational health room. GPs also provide medical services to the fishing village of Strahan twice a week in a purpose build health centre. == The Location == This charming town on Tasmania's west coast and is best known for its  mines and smelters, however in recent years the natural regrowth and planting is bringing the town back into a blanket of green.  It is surrounded by a scenic Tasmanian countryside and now is a thriving tourist town. It's also becoming well known for it?s small but active arts community, inspired by the mountains, rain forest, waterfalls, rivers and lakes of the area.
