Non-VR GPs welcome also. The clinic hours are Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm with an hour for lunch (negotiable). No after hours or oncall required. You will earn $150 per hour + GST. No accommodation or travel provided, so would suit local doctors. You will be working across two correctional centres that are located just a 5 min drive from each other. You will be running a clinic each day administering primary healthcare to the prison and remand centre?s inmates. Some admin tasks such as writing scripts, reviewing files, etc will be required.  You will be working with a friendly multidisciplinary team in a specialized clinical environment, supported by highly skilled nurses and prison staff. Where you will be working during the week will be discussed with the Medical Director when you arrive. One of the correctional facilities you will be working is a purpose built, maximum security facility for un-sentenced male prisoners and accommodates approximately 600 inmates. The second facility provides remand, sentenced, mainstream, protection and specialist accommodation for high, maximum and medium security prisoners (including young adult inmates aged 18?25) there are approx 800 inmates.  This facility also houses a 20 bed inpatient hospital unit.  If you are looking for a challenge and would like to use your skills in a different environment then this is the rewarding post you have been looking for!
