You?ll be spoilt for choice for activities on your days off from driving, fishing, camping, kayaking and trekking.   Job Details: You will be the only GP in the community so you must be experienced in working in remote indigenous communities. Support is provided by a health service manager, experienced nurses/health sisters, AHWs and administration staff. You will also have the support of other GPs in the health service who work in other locations and are available for phone advice. Phone support is also available from Katherine and Darwin Hospitals. It would be preferable if you have some experience with Communicare.    Nurses looked after the oncall and manage all emergencies but you may be called to assist the nurses with extremely serious emergencies. The nurses are very experienced and have worked in the community for a long time. DMO?s from Darwin organise evacuations to Katherine or Darwin Hospitals.   The communities are located near the WA border have a pop of approx 750-1000 people. A chartered flight will be arranged to and from the community.   Hours: 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday.  No afterhours or oncall required.   Rate & Package: $1250 per day plus GST.
