Visitors are attracted to the district by the variety of wildlife. The early mornings are perfect for bird watching and, if you're quiet, you may spot a platypus in a creek, or a musky rat-kangaroo foraging on the forest floor. At night, the climbing mammals - tree kangaroos, gliders and rare possums - come out to feed and socialise. The landscapes range from extinct volcanoes and crater lakes, bird and wildlife rich forests and National Parks, peaceful dairy and cropping farms and charming towns and villages. Job Details:  You will work in the organisation?s main clinic (south of Cairns) ? however you will get the opportunity to see lots of the region as you?ll also work at a couple of the out-reach clinics in nearby towns (usually 2-3 days per week). You may also be able to conduct some home visits along with program staff.  You?ll be working alongside 2 FTE doctors (who also travel between the sites) ? as well as RNs, a midwife, an EN, Indigenous Health Workers (both male and female), Drug and Alcohol workers and a full complement of administration staff.
