The service has been well developed by the current incumbent; however, they have had 2 recent departures.  The hospital is ideally seeking a generalist to see all types of cancer. Any type of special interest can be accommodated, but you must be to cover for your colleagues for leave and on call etc. There is onsite Radiation Oncology provided by 1 current staff specialist, 2 more commencing in the coming months and several VMOs. == The Position == is also supported by 2.5 FTE haematologists and a good palliative care service. The department has 1 advanced trainee every 6 months on rotation, 1 basic physician trainee and 1 RMO. The Hospital This hospital holds 345 beds and is the National Critical Care, Trauma Response Centre and the tertiary referral hospital for an area of approximately 2 million square kilometres. There are 7 theatres and a comprehensive Radiology Department including MRI and Nuclear Medicine. The hospital provides a broad range of services in all specialty areas and serves a population of approximately 140,000. There is an interesting variety of work with the surrounding population spread over vast distances. The climate and conditions mean there are different medical conditions to be dealt with which may not be seen or treated in many other areas of the country == The Location == If you want the opportunity to live and work in a truly diverse city then this is the job for you.
