The hospital serves approximately 150,000 people spread over a vast distance. The hospital has a wide range of specialist services in Emergency Medicine, Anaesthetics, Intensive Care and Coronary Care, acute medical and surgical, Rehabilitation, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and mental health.   There will be many different medical conditions for you to deal with which you may not have the opportunity to see or treat if you were to work in a different location. You will also get the opportunity to help train doctors because the hospital is affiliated with Flinders University in South Australia.   The hospital prides itself on looking after their staff. It offers staff accommodation on campus, from single air-conditioned units to four bedroom houses. In addition there are many sporting facilities you can use to keep fit and healthy including an air-conditioned gymnasium and squash courts, outdoor tennis courts and a sparkling 25-metre pool under shade cloth. There is also a comprehensive health library you can access with 10,000 books and 500 journal titles available. Medical data bases are networked throughout the Campus and there are Medline searching, reference and inter-library loans services as well.   You will be reporting to the Director of O&G and working in a team with four other consultants and seven registrars. You will only have to be on call 1 in 5 so you will have plenty of free time for leisure activities. The hospital will keep you busy, due to it having on average, 1800 births a year.   == The Location ==:   If you want the opportunity to live and work in a truly diverse city then this is the job for you.
