The respiratory service has a team of 16, including two nurse practitioners, 4 clinical nurse specialists and 6 qualified sleep and respiratory physiologists. It has a Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ) accredited category 3 respiratory function laboratory and also undertakes hospital and community sleep studies, and has community oxygen, and pulmonary rehabilitation services. There is excellent availability to ICU, Radiology including CT and MRI, nuclear medicine, and pathology. The team works closely with the local tertiary regional cancer and palliative care services. The service is actively supports the development of integrated care community care and has close links with community respiratory nursing, physiotherapy, psychology and pharmacy services. It also supports an integrated community sleep service. == The Position == In this role you will take professional care of and undertake delegated clinical responsibilities for patients admitted under your care. Your duties will be to conduct outpatient clinics and ward rounds, flexible fibreoptic bronchoscopy, insertion of intercostal catheters/pleural biopsies, and other duties, using the allocated time efficiently and effectively towards achieving the goals of the annual Business Plan. You will supervise and report respiratory function studies and reporting of sleep studies and when necessary, assists in the management of patients with emergencies. Experience in sleep medicine and supervision of a respiratory function laboratory and proven knowledge of modern skills and techniques within respiratory medicine is desirable. == The Location == The town you will call home is vibrant, youthful and is located on the North Island on New Zealand.
