You will earn $197.36 per hour + GST. You will be on rostered telephone support for RMOs after hours.  Oncall is paid at $200 per night and call in to duty will be paid at an additional $120 per hour (min 3 hours). Accommodation, car and return flights to Darwin/petrol reimbursement provided. You must be able to work unsupervised.  During the day there are other doctors in the hospital available for supporting.  During nights there will always be an on-call doctor available for assistance. You must be experienced in both inpatient and general practice areas.  There are some PGY2 and PGY3 on rotation from other hospitals.  Specialists operate from Darwin and offer an outreach service to the hospital.  Private general practices operate in the town.  Support is provided from Royal Darwin Hospital, to where tertiary referrals are made.  Aerial medical patient transfers are conducted by either fixed wing or helicopter services. The population of the region is approximately 19,000 and the hospital also services the hundreds of thousands of tourists from around the world who visit the region each year.  Approximately 80% of all inpatients are indigenous. The hospital consists of three well equipped Wards built in the late 1980?s ? Maternity, Medical/Surgical and Paediatrics ? as well as Emergency Department, Operating Rooms, Central Sterilising Department and Renal Dialysis Unit. Physiotherapy, Radiography, Laboratory and Pharmacy services are available within the hospital.  The hospital works closely with Aerial Medical (Flying Doctor Services) and Patient Travel services who are based on the Hospital campus.
