The rate will be $125 per hour for all locums, and any periods of 2 weeks or more within the specified dates will be considered.   Borroloola ? 5 to 23 July 2010   Locum required for the community of Borroloola - located on the McArthur River in the Gulf of Carpentaria, approximately 850 kilometres south east of Darwin and 670 kilometres from Katherine. Population 1200 plus outstations.  The placement may include weekly visits by chartered aircraft to Robinson River, located 120km south east of Borroloola ? with monthly visits to Kiana outstation.    The Clinic hours at Borroloola are from 9am to 4pm Mon to Fri and is staffed by Aboriginal Health Workers, Remote Area Nurses and a second GP. The RANs provide 1st  & 2nd on call for the community. The doctor is required to be second on call for serious cases. Clinical support is provided by the Aerial Medical Service telephone consultations and medical retrievals from Darwin.    Nguiu, Tiwi Islands ? 6 to 17 September   Based in the community of Nguiu situated on Bathurst Island in the Tiwi Island group 80km or 20 minutes by air north of Darwin.  Population approximately 1400. Work is undertaken in a multi-disciplinary team delivering clinical and public health services to the residents of Nguiu and the outstation of Ranku.    The community health centre is staffed by Aboriginal Health Workers and Remote Area Nurses. Services are supported by visiting allied health and specialist staff from Darwin.
