The Hospital is part of a network providing services in four broad program areas from sixteen sites located around the Mornington Peninsula. These program areas include Acute Health, Psychiatric Services, Aged Care and Rehabilitation, and Community Health. The geographic region served by the network is extensive, covering 1800 square kilometres between Port Phillip Bay and Westernport Bay; and bounded on the north by Edithvale, the east by Ranbourne and Hastings, and to the south by Flinders and Portsea. One quarter of a million people live in the network's catchment area.   == The Location == This hospital is located in an outer southern suburb of Melbourne, situated on Port Phillip Bay and a 40-minute drive to the Melbourne CBD. Melbourne stands at the crown of Port Phillip Bay, with the Bellarine and Mornington Peninsulas almost enclosing this wide body of water. The hospital location denotes the edge of the Melbourne metropolitan area and the entry point to the Mornington Peninsula, an area that features beautiful beaches, fine food and wine, chic beachfront towns and a variety of family attractions.
