The Division This is a major referral centre in south western Victoria providing a comprehensive range of specialist services including community based Child and Adolescent, Adult, and Aged Person mental health services, supported by a 15 bed acute psychiatric inpatient unit and a 5 bed extended care program. The Psychiatric Services Division provides mental health care for a population of approximately 110,000 people, with an emphasis on specialist, multi-disciplinary, community based teams operating within a case management framework, and located as close as possible to the clients? geographical area. == The Position == This role is to appoint the most senior psychiatrist for the Psychiatric Services Division. You will be providing clinical leadership, advice and supervision to all medical staff of the Division and clinical leadership to other clinical staff of the Division. You will act as consultant psychiatrist to other psychiatrists over complex and challenging clients and clinical issues. From time to time it may also be necessary to be responsible for direct clinical responsibility for a defined catchment and/or program area. To be successful for this role you will need extensive experience in clinical psychiatry with a demonstrated record of achievement in the development and implementation of innovative programs for the mentally ill.
