There is also a registrar in training and a house officer. You will provide clinical supervision and enjoy the aspect of teaching and imparting your specialist knowledge to House Surgeons and Medical Registrars as well as meeting the needs of Resident Medical Officers in assisting them to reach their training and examination requirements. You will also conduct educational presentations for nurses, resource nurses and other health professionals or groups with an otolaryngology interest. The Hospital This 350 bed secondary hospital services an urban population of 80,000 and a total population catchment of 168,000. In addition, it is a teaching hospital, and is associated with both Auckland and Otago medical schools. There is an active postgraduate medical society and an excellent clinical library with access to many online journals. Once a month there is a Regional half day meeting which include Otolaryngologists from Hawkes Bay, Taranaki and Wanganui. == The Location == This is a really lovely part of the world to live. You?ll be based in the lower part of the North Island of New Zealand, 140 kilometres north of the capital city of Wellington. Located in the eastern part of the Manawatu Plains, this area is the major commercial centre for the region and is situated at the geographical centre of New Zealand. The city centre has everything you want ? beautiful inner city parks, historic buildings, a great range of bars, cafes, restaurants, boutique shops, museums and art galleries. This location is a major university city and is at the hub of key routes to the central North Island ski fields and river adventures. Wellington, the capital city, is only a two hour journey by road, as are the wine growing regions of Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa. Why Wavelength?
