The MDHS is the primary medical representative and clinical point of contact with the client and will be responsible for liaising with senior government bureaucrats, stakeholders, partners, suppliers and the media in relation to all medical and health matters. The role is responsible for the oversight and governance of all health service programs in all sites and clinics in Australia. Working closely with and supervising an experienced team of medical management across the country, you will provide ultimate leadership on health related issues to the senior medical team and will be responsible that all operational delivery of health services and patient care performed by medical and clinic staff meets the appropriate RACGP standard of medical quality. The MDHS must thoroughly understand the clinical governance framework within complex contractual agreements and work with the Regional General Manager and other key internal management to ensure that relationships with stakeholders and clients are positive and consistent with contractual obligations. Additionally, the role supports the business development and commercial activity within the business unit to ensure that mutual expectations for health service delivery are set and managed appropriately maximising new and existing opportunities. In conjunction with the management team the MDHS will also be responsible for reviewing and refining the provision of medical services with the client and reviewing the business and health service activities, making recommendations for improvement and continued growth. This is a key leadership role within the organisation and requires someone with extensive medical leadership experience. The successful candidate will have postgraduate medical qualifications (either specialist or GP qualifications) and will ideally possess a Master of Health Management, MBA or similar. The ideal candidate will present with varied international medical/health care system experience with particular reference to the direct responsibility and management of a primary care led service. It will be crucial the successful candidate demonstrates strong experience of working and negotiating with government agencies and regulatory authorities. Proven experience of managing remote site medical facilities is required. As important as the technical and leadership skills will be the culture fit.
