Wide Bay Health Service District. Each year the busy Emergency Department sees 35,000 presentations, 13,000 of which are admitted acutely and the hospital provides 111,000 outpatient treatments and admits 28,000 general patients. Due to large population growth in the Sunshine Coast region, major redevelopments have been completed across the campus. During the period 2008 to 2010, 126 additional beds were created along with a new 45 bed resident aged care facility. There are plans for the hospital to be constantly enlarged with a goal of 750 beds in 2016, so by joining the team now, you can be sure you will be working in a state of the art, progressive environment! == The Location == The Sunshine Coast is 110 kilometres north of Brisbane on the southeast Queensland coast, with the hospital just 20 kilometres inland in the hinterland region of the area, 45 minutes drive south west of the popular coastal city of Noosa. You will live in the hub of the Sunshine Coast hinterland and be surrounded by lush, green subtropical rainforest, bush land and farms. Visitors to the area can enjoy a comprehensive network of walking trails and hikes which meander around stunning hills and valleys, taking in sweeping panoramic views all the way to the Coral Sea coastline 20 kilometers east.
