In this position you will have full involvement in the acute roster for admission as well as ongoing care of acute paediatric and neonatal hospital presentations. There is also specific responsibility for the assessment of children being taken into CYF (Child, Youth and Family) care and attendance on the local care and protection resource panel, as well as development of local child protection services. To be considered for this position you will have a strong commitment to comprehensive general paediatrics, a post-graduate qualification and be eligible for registration in New Zealand. == The Position == offers excellent working conditions, a relocation package and flexibility of commencement date. This is a part time role at 0.6 to - 0.8 FTE which is 48 - 64hrs a fortnight allowing for a fanstastic work life balance. The Hospital The Paediatric Unit is co-located with the Maternity Unit and consists of 8 beds, including 3 neonatal cots for babies of 34 weeks or greater gestation. The hospital provides all the major specialties, with sub-specialties visiting on a routine basis across New Zealand.  The district has a team of 9 Paediatricians. == The Location == Situated at the top of the South Island, the region has a combined population of approximately 130,000 and that number is increasing all the time.
