Duties include patient assessment and management, maintenance of accurate and relevant patient documentation, coordination of diagnostic tests and consultations and arrangement of patient discharge process. You will liaise with GP?s and other community care services as well as display excellent communication skills with patients, their families and other health practitioners. Weekly you will receive 5 hours of protected teaching as well as being expected to attend all Team Meetings on the ward (these occur 3 times per week). As for weekend coverage, this will be worked on a 1 in 3 basis. The Hospital This modern facility consists of 146 beds and services include surgery, medicine, paediatrics, O&G, emergency and intensive care. It is a tertiary teaching hospital servicing a population of approximately 80,000 people. The medical unit itself consists of 40 beds plus a 5 bed ICU and is currently supported by 6 Consultant Physicians. It is split in to 5 units which each unit being run by a Registrar and Intern under the supervision of up to 2 Consultants. The Hospital is accredited by the RACP for Basic & Advanced physician training.  == The Location == This stunning region is renowned for its Mediterranean climate, rich earth and welcoming locals. Alternatively you must hold a relevant medical degree and be eligible for registration with AHPRA as well as having experience in a comparable health care system.
