The Practice

A not-for-profit Aboriginal Medical Service bids farewell to a GP and is looking for the right candidate to join their team of doctors early next year in providing the community with much needed healthcare. This teaching practice is home to eight GPs, with two full-time doctors that are on-site and six FIFO GPs, all with varying interests. You will be working alongside a team of experienced doctors in providing ultimate healthcare to the community.

The practice is committed to quality care, including chronic disease management and prevention and is ideally looking for a doctor with an interest in remote/ regional and/or Aboriginal health. Doctors at this clinic usually work to 20 minutes appointments, seeing 3 patients per hour. The practice is offering flexibility around working arrangements, including both contractor and salaried employment agreements, and is providing relocation assistance, private use of a vehicle and residential accommodation to ensure you feel settled and at home.

This fully computerised practice features 17 fully equipped consulting rooms as well as several treatments rooms. You will be supported by an experienced team of practice admin staff including registered nurses and aboriginal health workers. You can focus on helping patients, knowing that your day will run smoothly, and your patients will be taken care of from the moment they walk through the door. For the convenience of your patients the practice has outreach facilities, an onsite multidisciplinary team offering a wide range of allied health services, as well as visiting specialists, dental services and pharmacist.

The opening hours of the practice are 8:30am to 5pm from Monday to Friday. With no weekends or on-call, your free time is yours to spend with family and friends. The practice is offering flexible working arrangements, including Fly-In-Fly-Out arrangements, to ensure you can achieve a health work-life balance. There is also the opportunity to work after hours if you are looking to increase your income, as well as working at any of their outreach sites.

The Location

This practice is in a regional centre in far western NSW with a population of approx. 19,000 people. With wide-open spaces and big blue skies, the rugged and natural beauty of outback NSW with its red dusty sands has been appreciated by locals and visitors alike for many years There is good sporting and schooling available and access to beautiful outback- Let it take your breath away with its grandeur and its drama- there is nowhere else on earth quite like it. Essential Criteria

DPA position and visa sponsorship available.

RACGP PEP-Specialist Pathway eligible international candidates (substantially comparable) and GPs holding Specialist Registration with AHPRA are eligible for this role.

GPs assessed as partially comparable by the RACGP are welcome to apply, depending on supervision requirements.

GPs holding General Registration with AHPRA, who have been accepted on to a fellowship pathway with either the RACGP or ACRRM, are also welcome to apply.

The Practice

This highly-regarded private-billing practice, established over 35 years ago, prides itself on delivering high quality medicine and maintaining a large base of loyal patients. You will be working in pleasant, purpose-built facilities featuring five fully equipped and comfortable consulting rooms, all with windows offering abundant natural light, one treatment room, a staff room, a kitchen and convenient on-site parking. Most of their seven doctors have been working there for over 20 years, which shows how happy the GPs are at this practice!

You will be supported by a dedicated team comprising three nurses, seven receptionists and a practice manager. The practice uses BestPractice software and operates from 8am to 6pm Monday through Thursday, 8am to 5pm on Friday and 8am to 12pm on Saturday. They offer a full range of services, including women's health, men's health, children's health, skin cancer checks and many more. The practice primarily uses private billing, with full-time doctor billing around $2,500 daily.

Essential Criteria

Non-DPA area.

Strong ties with medical school - Potential Academic DPA exemption for GPs with a strong teaching record.

Australian Permanent Residency or Australian or New Zealand citizenship required.

GPs holding Specialist Registration with AHPRA are eligible for this role.
