Great news, the RACGP has now confirmed how GPs who have completed the Expedited Specialist Pathway (ESP) can apply for Fellowship of the RACGP (FRACGP)! Many doctors have been waiting for this clarity, and we’re pleased to finally be able to share the process with you.

Requirements for Application

To apply, you’ll need to provide:

• Ahpra registration documents confirming ESP completion and removal of conditions.
• Your current CV.
• Proof of recent ALS and BLS training (within the past 12 months).
• Verified copies of your overseas GP specialist qualification (e.g., MICGP, FRNZCGP, MRCGP) and training certificates.

Fees:

Application fee: AUD 990 + GST

RACGP membership: approx. AUD 1,440 (if not already a member).

Key Steps Beyond Documents

1. Attestation – A RACGP Fellow must vouch for your good character (known you ≥6 months in the past 2 years).

2. Collegiate Discussion – A reflective conversation with RACGP representatives about your work in Australia.
