Consultant Radiologist
Adelaide , SA, }
Job ID.
The Position
Radiologists are sought to join a well-established, doctor-owned imaging group in Adelaide, working within a collaborative team of approximately 70 radiologists across clinic and reporting environments.
The role offers a base salary from $600k, increasing to approximately $650k for full-time clinic commitments, complemented by uncapped reporting incentives above set thresholds. Additional loadings apply for Breast Imaging, Interventional Radiology, and seniority, with further earning potential available through non-rostered reporting work.
Flexible working arrangements are embedded into the model, including hybrid rostering and work-from-home opportunities, supporting a sustainable and balanced workload.
Subspecialty interests are well supported, particularly in Breast Imaging and Interventional Radiology.
The Provider
This is a well-established, doctor-owned and operated imaging provider delivering comprehensive diagnostic and interventional radiology services across South Australia and Alice Springs.
The group operates across 26 clinics with over 500 staff, offering a full range of services including MRI, CT, PET, ultrasound, mammography, and interventional procedures. Subspecialty expertise spans musculoskeletal, neurological, oncologic, breast, and interventional radiology, with work across private hospitals, metro clinics, and regional sites.
Following a recent return to 100% doctor ownership, the practice operates under a clinician-led model with a strong focus on autonomy, quality care, and sustainable workloads. The culture is collaborative and supportive, with an emphasis on flexibility and long-term retention.
The Location
Adelaide offers the advantages of a capital city without the congestion and intensity of larger centres like Sydney or Brisbane. It combines a strong clinical environment with a lifestyle that is both accessible and sustainable long term.
With shorter commute times, more affordable housing, and a lower overall cost of living, it provides a practical alternative for experienced clinicians seeking balance. The city also has a strong family appeal, with excellent schooling and a welcoming, community-oriented feel.
Outside of work, Adelaide is known for its proximity to beaches, renowned wine regions, and outdoor lifestyle offerings, making it a well-rounded place to live and work without compromising on career opportunities.
Essential Criteria
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR), or
- Eligible for registration via the Expedited Specialist Pathway, including holding a Specialist Certificate in Diagnostic Radiology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada following completion of a Canadian residency program beginning after 1 July 2002
- Subspecialty interest or experience in Breast Imaging and/or Interventional Radiology highly regarded but not essential
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-site, team-based environment
- Commitment to high-quality reporting and patient care
