Job Overview

Mackay Hospital and Health Services requires a Senior Medical Officer for the Collinsville Multi-Purpose Health Service.

• 5^th October to 08:00 19^th October, 2026 (inclusive)
• 24^th December to 4^th January, 2027 (inclusive)

Please Note – Minimum requirements for a candidate to be forwarded to the Nursing Director for consideration are:

• Up to date and comprehensive CV with all gaps of 3 months or more explained
• Current referee reports x 2

In accordance with the Credentialing and Defining Scope of Clinical Practice for Medical Practitioners and Dentists in Queensland Health Policy 2011, we require two (2) referee reports. Referee reports are to be from professional peer referees who are independent of the applicant, with no conflict of interest, and who can attest to the applicant’s clinical performance within the previous 12 calendar months. One of these referee reports should be from the most recent place of employment (or in the case of locums, the most recent locum posting).

• Evidence of Vaccination Preventable Diseases (VPD)
• Correctly certified ID - Copies must be certified by a Justice of the Peace, Commissioner of Declarations, Barrister, Solicitor or Notary Public.

Sarina is a Digital Hospital – ieMR is used for medical records management; we no longer use paper in undertaking patient care Notes, Obs, Prescribe, order tests. All medical officers new to Mackay and ieMR MUST undertake a period of training on the first day of the locum contract.
