John Hunter Children’s Hospital (JHCH) is seeking a Paediatric Neurologist to provide regular locum support to our Paediatric Neurology Service.

This opportunity offers a combination of outpatient clinical work and approximately monthly on-call coverage, with flexibility around clinic scheduling during non-on-call weeks.

The Role

The locum position will include:

• One Paediatric Neurology outpatient clinic per week, comprising a mix of new and follow-up patients.
• Approximately one weekend of on-call per month, from Friday through to Monday at 8:00 am.
• During the on-call week, the outpatient clinic will be held face-to-face at JHCH on the Friday.
• The Neurologist will be required to remain locally available for the duration of the on-call period and attend JHCH where clinically required.
• During non-on-call weeks, the clinic day can be negotiated to provide greater flexibility around other clinical commitments.

During on-call periods, the Neurologist will provide specialist advice and support to the Emergency Department, paediatric inpatient teams, Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and other paediatric specialty services as required.
