Full Description
The Position
This opportunity is suited to an experienced O&G Consultant looking for a varied role within a supportive regional service.
You will provide specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology care, working closely with senior medical, nursing and allied health teams to deliver safe, high-quality and patient-centred care.
The role includes providing clinical supervision to junior medical staff, participating in after-hours on-call services, and contributing to education and training for registrars, resident medical officers and medical students. You will also participate in clinical audit, quality improvement, risk management and research activities.
The position offers an opportunity to broaden your clinical expertise while making a meaningful contribution to the delivery of women's health services within a growing regional community.
The Hospital
The service provides a broad range of healthcare to the local community and surrounding region, including 24-hour emergency care, acute medical and surgical services, day surgery, maternity and obstetric care, palliative care, cancer care, renal dialysis, and cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation.
Within the O&G service, you will work alongside experienced medical, nursing and allied health professionals, with opportunities to contribute to junior doctor supervision, education and continuous quality improvement.
Essential Criteria
- MBBS or equivalent with specialist registration or eligibility for specialist registration in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
- Extensive clinical experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
- Demonstrated commitment to high-quality, safe and patient-centred care
- Experience supervising and teaching junior medical staff
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
