Full Description
The Position
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced General Medicine Consultant to join a regional hospital service providing comprehensive care to the local community and surrounding region.
You will manage a varied and complex general medical caseload, working alongside senior medical, nursing and allied health teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Beyond your clinical responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to provide clinical leadership, supervise and mentor junior doctors, contribute to medical education, and participate in quality improvement, research and clinical governance initiatives.

The Hospital
The service provides a broad range of medical and surgical services to patients across the region, including acute inpatient care, 24-hour emergency services, maternity and obstetrics, palliative care, cancer care, renal dialysis, and cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation.
You will work as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team, with opportunities to contribute to education, training and continuous improvement across the service.
Essential Criteria
- MBBS or equivalent with AHPRA specialist registration/eligibility
- Extensive General Medicine experience
- Experience in supervision and teaching
- Strong clinical judgement and communication skills
- Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement and professional development
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
