Full Description
The Position
This opportunity is suited to an experienced Emergency Medicine clinician seeking to combine frontline clinical practice with leadership responsibilities.
The role includes providing and overseeing emergency medical services, supporting the effective operation of the department, and contributing to planning, coordination and evaluation of emergency care delivery.
As Clinical Lead, you will provide “on-the-floor” leadership, supporting junior medical staff including interns, HMOs and international medical graduates, while working closely with senior medical leadership to promote safe, efficient and coordinated patient care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing senior clinical support and oversight within the Emergency Department
- Supporting workforce supervision, education and training
- Contributing to department planning, operational improvement and service delivery goals
- Supporting clinical governance, accreditation and quality activities
- Working collaboratively with internal and external healthcare teams

The service is a regional health provider delivering a broad range of acute and community healthcare services across multiple campuses.
The Emergency Department provides 24-hour emergency care supported by critical care services, surgical services, medical specialties and a multidisciplinary team of experienced clinicians. The department sees a significant volume of emergency presentations each year and provides a strong environment for education, supervision and professional development.
The service is recognised for emergency medicine training and offers opportunities to contribute to teaching, clinical education and workforce development.
Essential Criteria
- MBBS or equivalent enabling registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- General registration with AHPRA or eligibility for registration
- Significant experience in Emergency Medicine
- Strong clinical judgement and ability to manage complex emergency presentations
- Experience supporting and teaching junior medical staff and students
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
