The Position

Here, you'll manage complex presentations—often involving severe psychiatric conditions and co-occurring medical issues—while working closely with emergency and general hospital teams. The second position is based within a well-established community mental health service in a major regional centre. This role focuses on continuity of care, crisis prevention, and sustained recovery for individuals living in the community. You’ll be deeply involved in case management, multi-agency collaboration, and outreach that aims to reduce hospital admissions and support long-term mental wellbeing in a less intensive setting. 

The Hospital 

In the community-based role, you'll join a leading mental health service delivering integrated, general adult acute care. With 24/7 inpatient and community coverage, this service is grounded in recovery-oriented practice and community reintegration, supported by a dynamic, multidisciplinary team committed to innovation and best practice. 

In the inpatient role, you’ll work within a trusted regional hospital, delivering essential care for individuals in acute psychiatric crisis. This service plays a central role in stabilisation and emergency mental health intervention, combining strong links with medical and emergency teams and a holistic, team-based approach to care. 

The Location 

Moving to these locations offers a choice between a vibrant regional city and a charming regional town, each with its unique appeal. The city provides extensive amenities, diverse dining, cultural experiences, and broader educational and healthcare options, reflecting a faster pace of life. 

In contrast, the town offers a more relaxed, community-focused lifestyle with a strong sense of local connection. You'll find more affordable housing and a slower pace, with nature often on your doorstep. Both areas deliver a strong work-life balance that's characteristic of regional NSW. 

Essential Criteria 

Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia via the Specialist Pathway (Substantially Comparable) or Expedited Specialist Pathway.
