      Conditions: This Minor Injury and Illness Clinic is based at a Satellite Health Centre whose purpose is to provide an alternative healthcare model for managing low-acuity emergency care and chronic disease in a community setting closer to home. The clinic provides treatment for unplanned, non-life-threatening conditions such as simple infections, fractures and minor burns. The clinic operates 7 days a week whereby no appointment is required and whereby it is a free service for Medicare card holders. It is run by a team of doctors, nurses and allied health professionals experienced in treating urgent medical needs from those aged 3 months plus to the elderly. The presentations can range from Cat 2 to Cat 5 with the average length of stay around 105 minutes. Flight, car and accommodation support can be provided for those able to stay for longer periods of cover.

It will be up to the discretion of local nursing staff in liaison with yourself regarding whether you need to attend in person for review of lower acuity patients after hours. Should a Registered Nurse require you to attend, you will be required to do so regardless of Triage Category. On-call will also require you to attend inpatients that are deteriorating.
