| Conditions: | You will be the sole-chronic disease specialist supplying ward services to Fitzroy Crossing hospital. Completing a ward round and patient discussion with the handover nurse and the ED SMOs. The outpatient ward manages patients with complex chronic conditions (diabetes, chronic kidney disease, ischaemic heart disease, rheumatic heart disease, etc.) so previous cultural awareness experience is essential. There is 24/7 support but you will not be required afterhours or over weekends. Travel is via Broome then by air or car to Fitzroy Crossing. All travel provisions including a 4x4 car is provided and you must be able to cover a 2-week block if travelling from outside WA. This region offers a powerful blend of natural beauty, culture, and outback adventure. Set on the Fitzroy River at the gateway to the Kimberley, it’s the perfect base to explore dramatic landscapes like Geikie Gorge (Danggu National Park), with its towering limestone cliffs and river cruises. | |||

The Practice
This friendly and laid-back practice consists of two GP partners plus regular locum, three practice nurses, one practice manager, three receptionists and the visiting dermatologist comes once month. The practice itself is equipped with nine consulting rooms, one treatment room, five nurses’ rooms, office and staffroom.
The clinic is open 8am to 6pm and doctors generally work a flexible 8-hour day . On call is very minimal and not at all. Appointments are set at 15-minute intervals which is really manageable and will ensure you are not overloaded. This is a laid-back team who like to get the job done but enjoy life at the same time. With plenty of support and great salary how can you pass this up?
The Location
The town is Located 90 kilometres north of Wellington and 50 kilometres south of Palmerston North with a population around 20,000. This town serves the local agricultural community and also has a thriving clothing industry, so is known as a factory outlet shopping destination. With the Tasman Sea coast on one side and the Tararua Ranges on the other, the area offers a wide range of outdoor adventures. Several different schools are available, and the weather is great!
Essential Criteria
In order to be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand as a GP, you must have worked at least 36 months of the past 48 months in a comparable health system, or you will need to hold suitable postgraduate qualifications and have worked at least 24 months of the past 36 months in a comparable health system.

The Practice
This accredited GP training practice is experiencing ongoing growth in patient demand and is looking for a GP to join their lovely team of five GPs, including the GP principal.
The team is supported by an experienced reception team, nursing support five days per week, onsite pathology and a range of visiting allied health providers including psychology, dietetics, audiology, echocardiography and a visiting neurologist.
