The Practice

Join an award-winning GP owned and run General Practice that prides itself on using the latest, evidence based medical management combined with lifestyle medicine to achieve the best health outcomes for their patients. In addition to this, the current five GPs at the practice also have special interests in skin cancer and cosmetics.

The practice is situated within a converted four-bedroom house, which has been remodelled, and fully renovated this year, with facilities including a staff room, kitchen and six consulting rooms that feature large windows, allowing natural lighting to enter throughout the day.

Since the previous owners retired in 2018, the current GP principal is working with one GP registrar and open to offering partnership opportunities. You will have the support of a full-time practice nurse, practice assistant in aged care and four experienced reception staff as well as a physiotherapist and pathology onsite for your patients’ convenience. With a list of 1200 patients actively attending the clinic on a regular basis, you will be booked up quickly and able to see as many patients per day as you wish.

You will have the flexibility to choose your hours between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday, with a 5:30pm close on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 9am to 1pm on Saturdays.

The Location

It is a one hour and 30 minutes’ drive from both Sydney and Newcastle, with easy access to train stations and bus transport. Famed for its broad golden sand beaches and tranquil lagoon, you will enjoy swimming, top surf breaks and magnificent national parks.

There is a range of excellent schools within the area, both private and public, and this is an ideal location to buy or rent a home as there are lots of wonderful suburbs along the Central Coast. The location of the practice is about 2 km from the town’s CBD, 10 minutes’ drive to the main shopping centre and 20 minutes from two local hospitals.

DPA position and visa sponsorship are available.

RACGP PEP-Specialist Pathway eligible international candidates (substantially comparable) and GPs holding Specialist Registration with AHPRA are eligible for this role.

The Position

This opportunity is ideally suited to a GP who values traditional family medicine and enjoys building lasting patient relationships.

With multiple doctors reducing their hours or approaching retirement over the coming years, there is a rare opportunity to establish yourself within a practice where demand already exists. You'll be supported to build your own style of practice, pursue special interests and develop long-term continuity of care with a diverse patient population.

The role offers flexible sessions across 2-4 days per week, full nursing support and strong earning potential through a mixed billing model. You'll benefit from a patient cohort that spans all age groups, with a particular focus on chronic disease management, preventative health and family medicine.

Remuneration includes 70% of billings and a $180 per hour guarantee for the first three months.

Established in 1979, this privately owned medical centre has built a reputation as a genuine community practice where many patients have been attending for generations. The practice remains GP-owned and independent, maintaining a strong focus on personalised care rather than high-volume medicine.

The team currently consists of eight GPs supported by experienced nurses and onsite pathology services. As several long-standing practitioners transition towards retirement, an incoming GP will have the opportunity to step into an established environment with significant patient demand and excellent long-term succession prospects.
