Celebrating Eamon: Ten Years of Connecting Doctors with Meaningful Work

For 10 years, Eamon McCurry has helped specialist doctors secure meaningful roles - and brought energy, humour and purpose to the Wavelength team along the way.

This week, we’re shining a light on Eamon McCurry, whose dedication to connecting the best doctors with roles where they make a valuable impact has made him a beloved member of the Wave team.
Eamon’s journey into recruitment started with a simple motivation: a love of working with people. “I’ve always been interested in what drives people - their strengths, their goals, their potential,” he shares. “Recruitment just made sense.”

“You’re not just filling a role. You’re helping a person find the right fit, and helping a hospital keep running smoothly.”

That curiosity has grown into a career that balances purpose with impact. Eamon has been at Wavelength for 10 years now - and works closely with doctors and healthcare organisations across Australia, helping solve staffing challenges that directly affect patient care.

Finding Balance Outside the Office

Outside the office, Eamon recharges in nature. Based in Sydney, he takes full advantage of the hiking trails and national parks close by. “Anything outdoors or active - I’m in. Hiking, fitness, cooking - I love it all.”

Culture, Camaraderie, and a Few Good Pranks

The lighter side of work isn’t lost on Eamon either. “There have been a lot of laughs - and a fair few pranks over the years. That sense of fun is a big part of what makes Wave special.”

His advice for new starters? “Take the time to learn the ropes. Healthcare recruitment moves quickly, but it’s incredibly rewarding.

"Ask questions, stay curious, and lean on your team; they’ll always have your back.”

When AFR named Wave one of the Best Places to Work in 2025, it came as no surprise to those who’ve been here a while. With over a decade at Wave, Eamon’s long-standing career is a reflection of the supportive, energising and people-focused culture the recognition celebrates.

Thank you, Eamon, for the energy and purpose you bring to the team and the healthcare professionals you support.

We’re lucky to share this journey with you!
