Dr John Bethell graduated in medicine from the University of Aberdeen in 1991 and began his career as a doctor before moving into recruitment. He joined Morgan & Banks in 1996, leading medical and pharmaceutical executive searches, and co-founded Wavelength International with Claire Ponsford in 1999. After relocating to Europe in 2012, John remained a non-executive director of Wavelength while working with innovative life sciences start-ups, co-founding Luka Global Group and recruiting over 20 CEOs and senior leaders across 15 countries. In 2025, John returned to Australia as a Director of the Wavelength Group alongside Claire Ponsford, where he heads the permanent recruitment division and Ccentric Executive Search.
