The Position

These opportunities don’t come up often, this is an exciting position for a specialist psychiatrist to build their career in an established private hospital. As a VMO, you will be responsible for providing psychiatric services in both inpatient and outpatient settings. You will have access to a consulting space, clerical support, and marketing services, which will be provided free of charge for psychiatrists who admit patients to the wards. The number of patients required for free services will depend on the number of days you utilize onsite consulting rooms. You can be rest assured that the hospital doesn’t take any percentage of your billings for inpatient or outpatient services.

The hospital provides second-to-none facilities to ensure you can provide each of your patients with state-of-the-art healthcare. You will enjoy variety in your role, with patients of the hospital presenting with various mental health conditions. Not only is there a waiting list of patients ready for consultation, but there is also unmet demand within the area with growth on the horizon. The hospital also has those who must make the move to the Central Coast covered, as they are providing relocation allowance to doctors from out of area.

The Hospital

The hospital is the largest private mental health facility within the area, with over 270 highly skilled staff that are committed to supporting the local community through providing exceptional care. Currently, the mental health ward is a 37-bed ward and is due to expand to a 27 bed mental health ward in mid-September. This expansion will allow General mental Health patients to be in a separate ward to the Drug and Alcohol patients. The hospital is looking to expand the ground level, creating an extra 15 car parking spaces and 27 patient beds. The hospital has a medical officer on-site 24/7, Radiology and pathology. With expansion of the facilities also comes increasing staff numbers within the team. Essential Criteria

Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), or close to achieving FRANZCP.
