The Position
With multiple opportunities that are truly flexible you can create your perfect work-life balance. Two neighbouring hospitals are seeking Emergency Medicine Specialists to join their growing teams. Both hospitals are in the process of redevelopment with expansions planned for their emergency departments. You can base yourself at one facility or work across the two settings for variation. This role can be designed to suit you with the opportunity to work in a VMO capacity or as a Staff Specialist; you decide. 

The Hospital
Work across two hospitals or base yourself in one facility; the options are negotiable. 
One facility is currently undergoing a $60 million redevelopment, with completion expected in 2018. It will deliver a new four-storey building adjoining the existing hospital, including a new emergency department, inpatient ward, four operating theatres and a critical care unit. It services a local community of 30,600 and a referral community of 55,200. It has 99 beds with a 22-bed surgical ward. The hospital provides a wide range of services including general medicine, surgery, day surgery, obstetrics, and gynaecology, paediatric, rehabilitation, anaesthetics, intensive care, and emergency. The hospital's 24-hour emergency department is equipped with 16 beds catering for adults and children and sees approx. 13,000 presentations p.a. 

The second facility is 110-bed regional referral hospital that provides a range of general, surgical and e specialist services including orthopaedics, urology, gynaecology, ophthalmology, general surgery, paediatrics, maternity, acute medicine and satellite renal dialysis. The hospital services a local population of 40,000 people. The hospital's 24-hour emergency department is equipped with 11 beds and sees 18- 20,000 presentations per year of which 10- 15% of the case are paediatric. There is a 25% admission rate.

Essential Criteria
