The Position
Wavelength is seeking a VMO/ Staff Specialist Intensivist to take on an exciting role located in regional New South Wales. You will oversee the High Dependency and Acute Care units of the hospital ensuring excellent standards of care are maintained and exceeded. You will provide multiple daily review of patients and critical opinion where required to surgical specialists and other relevant colleagues within the local hospital network, ensuring comprehensive care plans are made and communicated to all staff effectively. You will be available to participate in both on call and overtime roster as needed. Additionally, this is an opportunity to showcase your leadership skills as the role may evolve to hold responsibility for junior medical officers in the future.

The Hospital
The Hospital has recently completed a $22 million re development, implementing new state of the art operating theatres and surgical services. Additionally, refurbishment of existing orthopaedic and medical imaging wards was completed. This 103 bed hospital has in excess of 12,500 admissions per year providing care across such areas as Obstetrics, Paediatrics, Oncology and Renal Dialysis. High level services such as Acute Care and High Dependency units are also facilitated. The newly refurbished modern 24 hour Emergency Department sees approximately 24,700 presentations annually.

The Location
Located in the North Eastern Valley of New South Wales, this region is known for its historic buildings and tree lined streets. Essential Criteria
The successful candidate will have experience as a Staff Specialist, be a fellow of the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand and hold specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia
