This role will supply you with operative and non-operative experience and is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills prior to the commencement of surgical training if you choose to do so. You will be required to participate in an on-call roster, perform daily ward rounds of each patient in the Unit and examine all new admissions. You will be confident to work unsupervised and to provide your support and supervision to junior staff and medical students. You will be joining a service with wide and varied surgical experience, and a supportive team well-staffed with Consultants and Trainees. This position is available to commence in the new medical year from February 2019.
With over 150-beds this hospital is the area’s major referral centre, serving approximately 160,000 people. Undergoing exciting redevelopments to meet the needs of the surrounding population, specialist services are provided in Emergency Medicine, Anaesthetics, General Medicine, Renal Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, O&G, Paediatrics and Psychiatry. You will receive support and supervision from the Surgeon on-call and also the Surgeon in Charge of Theatre each day. You will also enjoy the new state-of-the-art theatre complex with six theatres that was opened in recent years.

You must hold current registration with AHPRA and have Australian Hospital experience in General Surgery.
