== The Position == As the Staff Specialist in Respiratory Medicine, you will provide consultative care to inpatients in Respiratory and General Medicine. You will be responsible for Respiratory speciality services including but not limited to: Diagnostic procedures e.g. bronchoscopy, pleural aspiration; management and insertion of intercostal catheters; management and provision of acute non-invasive ventilation; Interpretation and reporting of lung function. Additionally, involvement in the teaching and research of undergraduate and post-graduate medical students is encouraged. The team also participates in monthly, regional clinical outreach. The Hospital  This public, 400-bed teaching hospital services a major regional area of Tasmania. It provides state-wide services in the areas of cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, major trauma, high-risk obstetrics, hyperbaric medicine and neonatal intensive care, accommodating referrals from other regional areas. The hospital functions in co-operation with the University of Tasmania, which offers a research foundation and on-site research Institute. The Geriatric sub-acute inpatient care and outpatient service are located at the adjacent hospital ? a short walk through the CBD.
