Wavelength is seeking a Staff Specialist to provide palliative care services as part of the Cancer Care Services/Division of Medicine. This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of an efficient team to provide outstanding, high quality clinical care that continues to develop a safe, efficient and effective service.
As a Staff Specialist you will be providing a high standard of palliative care to patients, working with other senior medical staff and within multidisciplinary/ healthcare teams in a cooperative and collegiate way. You will use your experience and knowledge in problem solving, planning, and coordination of palliative care at an advanced level to ensure on-going integration and contemporary development of the palliative care service. With your leadership skills and dedicated outlook, you will be supervising Junior Medical staff (Advanced Trainee Registrars, Basic Training Registrars, Resident Medical Officers and Interns) and other clinical staff as appropriate. You will provide new patient assessment, outpatients sessions, clinical rounds, and to participate in the out of hours on call roster. There is also opportunity to get involved in providing consultancy and tele-health services to rural hospitals.
