In this appointment you will join the team to provide clinical palliative care services as well as provide collaborative support to the Medical Specialist and General Practitioner communities. There is a great opportunity to become involved in exploring new models of care and innovative practice to support end of life care across a wide geographical area. This new 6-bed inpatient unit is supported by an experienced team including an End of Life Care Physician, SRMO and Intern; Palliative Care-trained Inpatient and Community Nurses and Allied Health Support. There is also an onsite Cancer centre which provides intergrated cancer care to the community.
This is a great opportunity for a specialist who wishes to become involved in teaching and research projects as the hospital actively encourages ongoing professional development and life-long learning.
The hospital is a 280 bed acute general hospital. It boasts a full range of services including Internal Medicine, Neurology, Rheumatology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Anaesthetics, Rehabilitation, Geriatrics, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, General Surgery and Orthopaedics. There is a well-equipped 7-bed ICU department. The Radiology Department provides CT and Diagnostic Ultrasound.
