== The Position == Wavelength is currently recruiting a Specialist Surgeon ? Orthopaedics to join a historic base hospital. You will be joining a well-established and close knit team of five specialists and SMOs in an idyllic location to provide high quality clinical and non-clinical services to patients. You will be performing general surgeries with a focus on lower limb, alongside some trauma cases. You will have an interest in research and teaching as you facilitate learning for junior medical staff and students from affiliated universities. You will be offered a competitive remuneration package inclusive of regional allowances, leave loading and professional development provisions. Additionally, on call and overtime allowances are able to be negotiated prior to commencement. The Hospital This established hospital is the major medical centre of the region ? striving to provide a high quality of care whilst remaining on the cutting edge of technology. The facility has recently undergone a $50 million redevelopment to provide new beds, a new emergency department, maternity unit and special care nursery. Currently the hospital services a population catchment in excess of 100, 000 individuals providing care across units including Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, general surgery, Coronary care and Intensive Care. The 24 hour emergency department sees approximately 50,028 presentations annually with over 33,000 patient admissions to the hospital. == The Location == Located on the central coast of QLD, this region has long been a hidden gem nestled amongst more well-known cities.
