As a Consultant Oncologist, you will join a busy clinical unit consisting of three Consultants, one Advanced Trainee in medical oncology and two physician trainees. You will participate in a regular on-call roster for oncology, ward rounds, clinics, MDTs, student and junior doctor education. There are also specialist outreach clinics in regional hospitals as well as close links with the local university and Health Research Centre.
This tertiary, Level 3 RACP teaching hospital holds over 370 beds and serves as the primary hospital for an estimated current population of 140,000. The hospital also serves as the referral hospital for rural and remote communities for the surrounding areas expanding the services area to 614,000 square kilometres – approximately twice the size of Victoria.
The hospital has a wide range of specialist services in Emergency Medicine, Anaesthetics, Intensive Care and Coronary Care, acute medical and surgical, Rehabilitation, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Mental Health.
