Wavelength is looking for a Specialist Obstetrician/Gynaecologist who wants to take on an exciting role located in regional South Australia. You will be working across two hospitals to deliver superior O&G services with a high focus on improving patient outcomes. You will work closely to support and expand Level 3 and 4 maternity services at both locations and improve access to services for Aboriginal women in a culturally appropriate manner. You will participate in an on-call roster, and provide your expertise via consultative services as requested from your colleagues. Additionally, this is an opportune chance to showcase your leadership and teaching skills through training and supervision of students and junior medical staff.
The district’s facilities deliver crucial services for rural and remote communities within the region – providing the outback base for the South Australian Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia. The Hospitals provide general medical, surgical, palliative care and ICU services alongside a number of state of the art operating theatres. A mental health unit has recently been established and both locations provide services such as obstetrics, paediatrics, chemotherapy and renal dialysis. The Hospital has close ties with the local Aboriginal communities and is providing specific programs and initiatives in an Australian first, particularly in the area of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Both facilities are fitted with a modern 24 hour Emergency Department with approximately and see over 22,000 patients annually.
