Staff Specialist - Intensivist

The Position
You will be a motivated and experienced Intensivist, ready to take the next step in your career to this active health network. Working full time day hours, with participation in an on call roster as required, you will be passionate about improving health care and it’s delivery at both patient and system levels. You will work in a CICM level 2 facility, providing 8 beds including one isolation bed. You will be supported by highly skilled ICU nursing staff and Junior Medical Officers as you demonstrate your expertise across a wide range of ICU services. Additionally, you will have an interest in sharing your knowledge as you provide teaching and development to junior medical staff and university students, with a separate appointment to a University academic position available. Offering both acute and sub acute services, the facility has a total of 242 beds providing care across the areas of Oncology, Intensive Care, Coronary Care, Paediatrics, Rehabilitation and Psychiatric care. The Hospital has strong links with the local University, with the medical school being located on the same campus alongside a strong focus on teaching and research within the hospital as an accredited teaching facility.  The Hospital is fitted with a modern 24 hour Emergency Department with over 24,629 presentations annually, with approximately 12,118 admissions to the facility.

Essential Criteria
The successful candidate will be a Fellow of the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand and hold specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia
