== The Position == Wavelength currently holds an exciting opportunity for a Staff Specialist ? General Surgeon based in regional New South Wales. You will provide care to both public and private patients in this teaching hospital to provide both routine and emergency surgeries. You will participate in an on call and after hours roster as well as conducting ward rounds appropriate to patient needs. You will have an interest in showcasing your leadership and mentoring skills as you supervise residents, registrars and career medical officers to assist with their training and career paths. Additionally you will have a keen eye for details as you maintain comprehensive patient records and contribute to relevant committees as required. The Hospital This rural teaching facility has 80 beds and offers a broad range of services including general medical, surgical and specialist services. A historic hospital, a completely new facility was built and opened in 2000 after the receipt of $32 million in funding. More recently,  $6.6 million was assigned to the completion of a brand new 10 bed mental health facility. The hospital offers services such as Obstetrics, Paediatrics, Dialysis, Palliative Care and surgery. Furthermore, support services such as Radiology and Pathology are located on sit. The Emergency department sees approximately 20, 541 presentations per year, with 7, 285 patients admitted to the hospital during the same period. == The Location == Located in the far west of New South Wales this rural location holds more than first meets the eye.
