This fantastic opportunity is for a Staff Specialist in Addiction medicine to join a multidisciplinary team in order to lead them in the deliverance of high quality clinical care. Working within the Addiction Services Clinical Unit you will be providing high quality addiction medicine services, demonstrating clinical leadership to the Addiction Services Academic Clinical Unit and contributing to the overall development and quality of services. This post has a true collaborated working relationship with medical officers and psychiatrists of Academic Clinical Units: Director of Governance, Director of Recovery and Social Inclusion, Director of Therapies and Director of Nursing. This collaboration ensures provision of evidence informed Addiction and Mental Health Care while promoting budget integrity.
The Health Service
This health service is responsible for providing public health services to a large and diverse geographical area. Servicing an estimated residential population of approximately one million people or 23 per cent of Queensland’s population, it is one of the largest health providers in the region.
It offers community mental health services, inpatient services and acute care services to patients of all ages across a range of programs such as child and youth, adult, older persons, and specialist programs.

To be eligible to apply for this position you must have current General Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). You must also hold one of the following specialist qualification to be considered:
Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Chapter of Addiction Medicine)
Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatry (with Section of Addiction Psychiatry)
Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatry (without Section of Addiction Psychiatry)
Medical Officer General Practitioner with FRACGP
Or equivalent postgraduate specialist qualification
