== The Position == We are seeking a General Paediatrician to join a highly dedicated team of four other Paediatricians along with 24 hour Registrar and Resident support. In this full time appointment you will be responsible for providing a safe, efficient, collaborative and highly skilled General and Related Paediatric inpatient, Paediatric outpatient, Paediatric community clinics, Paediatric emergency intake and on calls and educational Paediatric services. Scientific research, clinical audit, quality and safety improvement and safe practice exercises and peer review are strongly encouraged for this position. It is also possible for you to engage in leadership capability development in these areas and there is an active, high level intellectual available support for such career enhancing and personal development activities on site. The Hospital You will be working in a high level regional health service that is the main referral unit for its region. It is a 280 bed acute and extended care facility which provides surgical, medical, paediatric, oncology, obstetrics and gynaecology, intensive care and psychiatry services. The Paediatric department has 12 General paediatrics beds, 8 neonatal beds in which the unit provides level 4 neonatal services, and four isolation rooms. The department cares for approximately 1,500 patients per year == The Location == The hospital is located in a multicultural, thriving regional town with a rich history and an abundance of parks and gardens. There are five secondary schools in the region, as well as denominational and private schools. == Essential Criteria == To be successful in applying for this position you must hold FRACP or be close to obtaining your fellowship and be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
