== The Position == In this appointment, you will be responsible for providing high-quality specialist treatment and care for public patients in General Medicine.This post will see you joining an innovative and welcoming department with a focused and committed team. Your duties will include inpatient and outpatient care, teaching, research and management. The department serves a local population of 100,000 for basic services and a regional population of 250,000 for tertiary services. There are also opportunities for attachment to the large undergraduate clinical school and the clinical research unit, both of which are based at the hospital. You will be also required to participate in the General Medicine on call roster. The Hospital This post is based in a 300 bed public hospital that offers all acute medical services. It is a major referral facility that provides general and specialist health services to a population of about 250,000 people. With recent redevelopments, the facilities are modern and functional and the staff areas are excellent. The hospital has strong links with the local University, as a result the medical school is co-located on the same campus.
