You will work as a Non Invasive Cardiologist with experience in General Medicine at a leading hospital in the central Queensland region that offers a wide range of medical and allied health services. The team is currently staffed with 3.2 Cardiologists, 5 Principal House Officers (including 1 x Advanced Trainee), 3 Junior House Officers and 2 interns and provides cardiology services to a local population of 190,000. There is opportunity to get involved in the education of Medical Staff and Students, Allied Health, interested Community Groups and Nursing Staff. The department is accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) for cardiology advanced training status. New services implemented in late 2013 include a Cardiac Catheter Laboratory and an MRI scanner. A wide range of cardiology diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are provided including Echo, TOE with 3D capacity, stress echo, Dobutomine, CTCA, Cardiac MRI, coronary intervention and pacing device implantation.
You will a state-of-the-art facility comprised of an emergency department, outpatients department, birth suites and special care nursery, intensive care unit and coronary care unit, day surgery and operating theatre suite, inpatient surgical and medical wards, renal support services, day oncology, dental, allied health and mental health facilities.
The Health Service provides an integrated approach to service delivery across acute, primary health and other community-based services including aged care assessment, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) programs. Primary Health services within the HHS cover a range of program areas including Integrated Mental Health; Integrated Oral Health; Home and Community Care; Mobile Women’s Health; Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drugs; Sexual Health; Aged Care Assessment Team; and Breast Screen.
